KNOTS Launch in Bangkok, Roundtrip, and Stakeholder Conference

In June 2017 numerous KNOTS events took place in Bangkok.

On June 16, the KNOTS project was officially launched at the Chulalongkorn University where the university staff of the Chulalongkorn University met involved project partners of KNOTS. Information regarding the departments and study programmes of the different universities were also exchanged. More information concerning the launch of KNOTS in Bangkok is available on the homepage of the Chulalongkorn University, here.

The launch was followed up by the KNOTS roundtrip to Klong Yong, Salaya, and to Samut Sakorn, Mahachai (June 19 to 20). The participants met and discussed with organisations working on issues relevant to the KNOTS project (i.a. migrant workers' rights). Each trip was structured around a specific programme which is retrievable here.

From June 21 to 22, the first "Stakeholder Conference on Transdisciplinary Approaches to Migration, Environmental Change and Social Inequality" was held back in Bangkok at Chulalongkorn University. Each issue – transdisciplinarity, social inequality, migration and environmental change – was discussed by a specific panel, bringing together different perspectives from academic institutions, international organisations, civic society groups or from the field of education. The Stakeholder Conference concluded some busy days for the KNOTS participants in and around Bangkok.
